Unai Emery says Aston Villa are ready for a “very special” night at Villa Park as they prepare to overturn a 3-1 first-leg deficit against Paris Saint-Germain in Tuesday’s Champions League quarter-final second leg.

PSG impressed in Paris with stunning goals from Desire Doue, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Nuno Mendes, leaving Villa facing an uphill battle.

But Emery, who once experienced a famous comeback loss as PSG boss against Barcelona in 2017, believes his side can harness the Villa Park atmosphere for a remarkable turnaround.

“It will be difficult, but we feel strong at home,” said Emery. “We want to share that energy with our fans and play our best football.”

Villa remain unbeaten at home since August and head into the tie full of confidence after a 3-0 win at Southampton on Saturday.

Goals from Ollie Watkins, Donyell Malen, and John McGinn, all from substitutes, highlighted the impact of their strengthened squad.

Villa are still alive in three competitions and Emery hopes momentum and belief can carry them past the French champions and into the semi-finals.
