Bournemouth striker Evanilson will be available for Saturday’s trip to Arsenal after the club successfully appealed the red card he received against Manchester United, the Football Association confirmed on Wednesday.
The Brazilian forward was dismissed in the 70th minute of Sunday’s 1-1 draw after a VAR review saw his yellow card for a challenge on United full-back Noussair Mazraoui upgraded to red.
The decision initially meant Evanilson would miss three key Premier League games—against Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Manchester City.
However, the FA has now overturned the suspension following Bournemouth’s appeal.
“An independent regulatory commission has removed Evanilson’s three-match ban following a successful claim of wrongful dismissal,” the FA said in a statement.
Evanilson, 25, has been a crucial part of Andoni Iraola’s side this season, netting 11 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions.
His availability boosts Bournemouth’s hopes of a strong finish as they sit 10th in the table and prepare for a tough run-in starting at the Emirates.
