Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets, completed a flawless run at the 2025 WAFU Zone B U-20 Women’s Cup with a 1–0 victory over hosts Benin Republic on Wednesday at the Omnisport Stadium in Adjohoun.
Already crowned champions before kick-off, the Falconets sealed their fourth straight win thanks to an early strike from in-form forward Ramotalahi Kareem, who latched onto a through ball and coolly finished in the 16th minute.
Kareem, who finished as the tournament’s top scorer with four goals, led a dominant Nigerian side that controlled possession throughout.
Despite creating several chances to extend their lead, the Falconets settled for a slim but assured win.
Coach Moses Aduku’s team finished with 12 points from four matches, scoring ten goals and conceding only once. Ghana placed second with six points, while Benin ended without a point.
Midfielder Kafayat Mafisere was named Woman of the Match, while Ghana’s Sarah Nyarko claimed the Best Player award.
The victory capped a commanding campaign for Nigeria, who also recorded comprehensive wins over Ghana and Benin earlier in the tournament.
