Notable attendees included former Ogun State Governor Chief Olusegun Osoba, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, among other distinguished guests.

The Ogun State Council of Obas expressed their sorrow over the loss of Oba (Dr.) Sikiru Kayode Adetona, GCFR. The Council’s Chairman, Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, remarked that the passing of the monarch signifies the close of an important era in traditional leadership, impacting not only Ogun State but all of Nigeria.

In a demonstration of respect and adherence to traditional customs, several key markets in the area have temporarily ceased operations. Mrs. Opeoluwa Adebanjo, a resident of Ijebu-Ode, informed our correspondent that markets, including the New Market at Ita Osu, will remain closed for seven days as part of the mourning rituals.
