Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode has showered praises on her senior colleague and former boss, Funke Akindele, following her historic box office achievement.
According to The Nation on Monday, Akindele made history as the first Nigerian filmmaker to gross ₦2 billion at the box office with her film Behind The Scenes, setting a new benchmark in the country’s film industry.
Reacting to the milestone in an Instagram post, Olayode described Akindele as an exceptional woman whose success is the result of years of consistency, hard work and dedication. She applauded the filmmaker for breaking barriers and creating opportunities for others, noting that Akindele continues to open doors and achieve unprecedented feats in Nollywood.
“Five times the highest-grossing QUEEN!!! What an exceptional woman! I don’t even know what to say,” Olayode wrote. “I’m so glad that God continues to crown your efforts with great grace and success.”
