Flamengo produced a stirring second-half comeback to beat Chelsea 3-1 in Philadelphia, taking control of Group D at the FIFA Club World Cup with a second straight win.
Pedro Neto had fired Chelsea into the lead in the first half, calmly finishing after a fortunate bounce set him free.
The Blues looked in control, with Liam Delap going close early and Levi Colwill clearing off the line to preserve the advantage.
But Flamengo turned the game on its head after the break. Bruno Henrique tapped in Gonzalo Plata’s header to level, before Danilo struck minutes later after Henrique’s knockdown from a corner.
Chelsea’s hopes of a response were dashed when Nicolas Jackson was sent off for a reckless challenge.
Wallace Yan then added a late third to seal Flamengo’s sixth win in a row and end Chelsea’s four-game winning streak.
