Flamingos Drawn in Tough Group for 2025 U-17 Women’s World Cup

Nigeria’s U-17 women’s team, the Flamingos, will face Canada, France, and Samoa in Group D of the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, which takes place in Morocco from October 17 to November 8.

The draw was held on Wednesday at the Mohammed VI Football Academy in Rabat, where all tournament matches will be played. This will be Nigeria’s eighth appearance at the tournament.

Group A features hosts Morocco alongside Brazil, Italy, and Costa Rica. Defending champions Korea DPR are in Group B with Mexico, Cameroon, and the Netherlands.

Group C includes the USA, Ecuador, China, and Norway, while Group E has Spain, Colombia, Korea Republic, and Ivory Coast. Group F features Japan, New Zealand, Zambia, and Paraguay.

This year marks the first time the tournament will feature 24 teams and be held in Africa. Morocco will host the next five editions.

The opening game will be between Morocco and Brazil. The top two teams from each group, plus the four best third-placed teams, will reach the round of 16.
