Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will begin their quest for an eighth U-20 Africa Cup of Nations title in Group B, where they will face Tunisia, Morocco, and tournament debutants Kenya.

The draw for the 2025 tournament was held on Sunday at the Egyptian Football Association headquarters in Cairo.

Egypt will host the competition from April 27 to May 18, following Côte d’Ivoire’s withdrawal as the original host.

Thirteen teams will participate in this year’s edition, split across three groups. Group A features five teams, while Groups B and C each have four.

The top two teams in each group, along with the two best third-placed teams, will advance to the quarter-finals.

Seven-time champions Nigeria were seeded in position B1, while defending champions Senegal were placed in Group C alongside Ghana, DR Congo, and the Central African Republic.

The Flying Eagles have returned to Abuja after a three-week training camp in Katsina and are expected to depart for Egypt later this week to finalize preparations.

Beyond continental glory, this year’s tournament carries added significance as the top four teams will qualify for the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile.
