Nigeria’s Flying Eagles booked a spot in the semi-finals of the 2025 WAFU Zone B U-20 Boys Cup with a 4-1 victory over Benin Republic in Accra on Sunday.
After conceding first to Junior Olugbade’s 24th-minute free-kick, Nigeria levelled through Muhammed Abdullahi, who finished off a neat move for his second goal of the tournament.
Ezekiel Kpangu put Nigeria ahead in the second half, before Imrana Mohammed made it 3-1 in the 86th minute.
Mohammed then set up Abdullahi Majdid for a stunning fourth goal from outside the box.
Defender Odinaka Okoro was named Man of the Match for his strong display at left-back.
Nigeria finished the group stage with four points from two matches and now await the result of Wednesday’s clash between Ghana and Benin Republic to determine their final group position.
The Flying Eagles are defending champions and aiming for back-to-back titles.
