Rising music star Fola has issued a public apology following safety lapses at his first-ever headline concert, which sparked widespread criticism after the venue was overcrowded.

The concert, held on December 15 at the Balmoral Event Center, drew a turnout that exceeded the venue’s capacity, leading to rowdy scenes and multiple safety breaches. The situation became severe enough that Fola was forced to halt his performance midway to prevent further harm.

In a heartfelt statement shared after the event, the singer expressed deep regret, admitting that the safety of his fans should have taken precedence. “My people, I’m really sorry about how last night went. People were hurt, and that should never happen. I had to stop the show because safety comes before anything else. I hear you on all fronts, and we’re working to make things right,” he said.

Fola’s record label, Dagbana Republik, also released an apology, attributing the incident to inadequate safety measures at the event organised by Mainland Blockparty. The label acknowledged that the venue’s capacity was exceeded, creating unsafe conditions for attendees.

According to the statement, the performance was immediately stopped once it became clear that fans were at risk. Dagbana Republik added that it is working closely with the organisers to address the concerns of those affected and to ensure stricter safety measures at future events.

The incident has since reignited conversations around crowd control, venue capacity, and safety standards at live music events.
