Liverpool manager Arne Slot has acknowledged Nottingham Forest as genuine Premier League title contenders ahead of their clash at the City Ground on Tuesday.
Forest, currently third in the league, could close the gap to just three points behind leaders with a seventh consecutive win.
Slot praised Nuno Espírito Santo’s team for their remarkable turnaround after narrowly avoiding relegation last season.
Forest, unbeaten in the league since December and boasting a solid defense, defeated Liverpool 1-0 at Anfield earlier this season, a result Slot now sees as justified given their current form.
Highlighting Forest’s history as title challengers in the late 1970s, Slot noted their resurgence under Nuno while also crediting the club’s significant investment.
Liverpool, however, remain focused on maintaining their strong campaign as they seek to reclaim their Premier League dominance.
