Nottingham Forest have agreed a £37.5m deal for Ipswich Town winger Omari Hutchinson and are set to pay nearly £30m for Manchester City midfielder James McAtee, with the latter move including sell-on and buy-back clauses.

Both players starred in England Under-21’s Euro 2025 triumph, with Hutchinson scoring in the final against Germany from McAtee’s assist.

Forest had an earlier £35m bid for Hutchinson rejected but have now reached an agreement, beating Brentford to his signature after the Bees failed to strike a deal with Ipswich.

McAtee, 22, made 27 appearances for City last season but only three Premier League starts. He has long been on Forest’s radar and now looks set to join ahead of Sunday’s home opener against Brentford.

The club are also in advanced talks for Rennes striker Arnaud Kalimuendo, with all three moves together worth close to £90m.

Forest’s transfer drive follows the £55m sale of Anthony Elanga to Newcastle, with Dan Ndoye already arriving from Bologna to bolster their wide options.

Hutchinson joined Ipswich from Chelsea for £20m last summer and scored three goals in 31 league games, but could not prevent their relegation.

Ipswich have also sold striker Liam Delap to Chelsea for £30m after his 12-goal season.
