FRANCE EDGE D’TIGRESS IN HIGH-SCORING WORLD CUP QUALIFIER.

Nigeria’s women’s basketball team, D’Tigress, suffered a narrow 93–86 defeat to
France at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup Qualifying Tournament in
Villeurbanne.
France dominated early, racing to a 27–15 first-quarter lead thanks to impressive
shooting, including a strong run from three-point range.
D’Tigress fought back through veteran guard Ezinne Kalu and cut the deficit to just
two points at 76–74 early in the fourth quarter.
However, the hosts regained control and held firm in the closing minutes to maintain
their unbeaten run in the tournament.
Nigeria, which has already secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup, now holds a
two-win, two-loss record and will conclude their campaign against Germany.
