The community of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) is filled with pride as it honors one of its most distinguished alumni, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), who has recently been awarded the Chief of the Order of the Golden Heart (CGH), Kenya’s highest national honor. This esteemed accolade was presented to him by His Excellency, President William Ruto of Kenya, during a State House ceremony in Nairobi, highlighting Dr. Adesina’s significant contributions to development across the continent and his unwavering commitment to Africa’s advancement.
On behalf of the University management and the entire OAU community, Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamire extended warm congratulations to Dr. Adesina for this well-earned recognition. Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, an alumnus of Agricultural Economics from OAU, exemplifies the excellence associated with Great Ife.
