Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has confirmed that he will address the citizens of Rivers State by 6 p.m. today, following his return after the suspension of the emergency rule imposed on the state.

Speaking shortly after his arrival at the Government House in Port Harcourt, Fubara thanked residents for the warm reception, describing it as a show of love and solidarity.

“I am humbled by what I saw at the airport. I was also briefed about what happened here yesterday. That reception really touched me. It shows love, confidence, and solidarity — it is more than just a celebration,” he said.

The governor described the massive turnout as a testament to the strong bond between his administration and the people of Rivers State.

“The large crowd that came out to celebrate is a reaffirmation of the trust and connection between this government and the people we serve.

I want to assure you that we will continue to do the things that have earned us your love and support. We truly appreciate everyone, and we love you in return,” Fubara stated.

He added that his 6 p.m. statewide broadcast would formally recognize all those who played a role in restoring normalcy to the state.
