Fulham have strongly condemned the racist and homophobic abuse directed at defender Calvin Bassey following his standout performance in Sunday’s FA Cup victory over Manchester United.
Bassey opened the scoring at Old Trafford before Fulham secured a quarter-final spot with a penalty shootout win.
However, after the match, the Nigeria international was subjected to offensive messages online.
In a statement, Fulham expressed their outrage, labeling the abuse “abhorrent” and pledging to support Bassey while working with authorities to identify those responsible.
The club reaffirmed its commitment to fighting discrimination in football and society, emphasizing its dedication to creating an inclusive environment.
Fulham will face Crystal Palace in the FA Cup quarter-finals on March 29.
