Chelsea have sealed the signing of Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United in a £40m deal, with the 21-year-old winger penning a long-term contract until 2032.

The Argentina international pushed for the transfer and becomes Chelsea’s ninth arrival of the summer. He was in attendance at Stamford Bridge on Saturday to watch his new side beat Fulham 2-0.

“It’s an incredible moment for my family and I to join this great club,” Garnacho said after the move was confirmed. “I can’t wait to get started. To join the world champions is special – we’re the best team in the world! It’s amazing to be here and I’m very happy.”

Garnacho leaves Old Trafford after making 93 Premier League appearances and scoring 16 goals across two full seasons, including his spectacular bicycle kick against Everton that claimed the 2024 FIFA Puskas Award.

The £40m fee makes him the fourth most expensive sale in United’s history, behind Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku and Angel Di Maria, and the biggest sale of an academy graduate the club has ever made.
