Real Madrid increased the pressure after the break, but Thibaut Courtois kept them alive with a sharp save from Vladyslav Vanat.

Vinicius Júnior won a penalty moments later, and Mbappé calmly converted to level the score. Both sides created late chances, yet neither found a breakthrough.

The draw means Girona remain in the relegation zone only on goal difference, while Real Madrid sit one point behind league leaders Barcelona after 14 matches.
