As he wrapped up his sermon with a prayer, social media footage captured a noticeable change in his movements; his pace slowed, and his left hand, which held the microphone, gradually dropped.
Amid labored breaths, he prayed, “The meditations of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, oh Lord.” He continued, “My strength and my redeemer, let them go in peace,” bowing his head as he lowered the microphone. Moments later, his head began to bob, and his body jerked in an unusual manner, prompting a swift response from the audience, who rushed to surround him on stage to prevent a fall.
The Potter’s House later released a statement on social media, acknowledging that Bishop Jakes suffered a “slight health incident.” The statement reassured followers that the esteemed pastor and author received prompt medical attention and is currently in stable condition. “The entire Potter’s House family is grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from the community. Thank you for your understanding and continued prayers,” the statement expressed.
