The Golden State Warriors booked their spot in the second round of the NBA playoffs with a gritty 103-89 Game 7 win over the Houston Rockets on Sunday, snapping a two-game skid to close out the series.
Buddy Hield stole the spotlight with a blistering performance, sinking 9-of-11 from beyond the arc en route to 33 points, his best playoff outing yet. Stephen Curry added 22, including 14 in a dominant fourth quarter that buried Houston’s hopes of a historic comeback from 3-1 down.
“A lot of resilience,” Curry said. “Everybody contributed. Buddy was unbelievable.”
Golden State now moves on to face the Minnesota Timberwolves, fresh off their five-game dismantling of the Lakers, while Houston’s rally ends in disappointment after two emphatic wins had swung momentum their way.
