Iga Swiatek beat Yastremska to close in on Third Indian Wells Title

Defending champion Iga Swiatek moved one step closer to a historic third straight Indian Wells WTA title with a dominant 6-0, 6-2 victory over Dayana Yastremska.

The world number two from Poland was in complete control, winning the first 10 games before her opponent finally got on the board.

Elsewhere, 17-year-old Mirra Andreeva cruised past Clara Tauson 6-3, 6-0, while 2023 champion Elena Rybakina defeated Katie Boulter 6-0, 7-5, setting up a fourth-round showdown between the two.

American Jessica Pegula also advanced with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Wang Xinyu.

In the men’s draw, Daniil Medvedev progressed after American Alex Michelsen retired just two games into the match.

Stefanos Tsitsipas eased past Matteo Berrettini 6-3, 6-3, and Tommy Paul edged past Cameron Norrie 6-3, 7-5.

Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor continued his strong run, following up his upset over Alexander Zverev with a 7-6, 6-3 victory over Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard.
