Chairman of Ijebu Ode Local Government Area, Dare Alebiosu, has formally inaugurated 57 newly appointed consultants, senior political assistants, and political assistants to Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
The ceremony, held at the council secretariat in Itoro, Ijebu Ode, was attended by political stakeholders, party leaders, and residents from across the local government.
In his remarks, Alebiosu said the appointments were a recognition of the appointees’ integrity, influence at the grassroots, and commitment to community development.
He stressed that the roles go beyond ceremonial titles, describing them as vital to strengthening the link between government and the people.
“As Consultants, Senior Political Assistants, and Political Assistants, you are expected to represent the interests of our governor and our party.
“Your duties include gathering feedback, assessing community needs, and mobilising support for the smooth implementation of state policies and programmes,” Alebiosu said.
He urged the new aides to uphold discipline, loyalty, and exemplary behaviour, describing them as ambassadors of good governance in Ijebu Ode.
Speaking on behalf of the appointees, Olakitan Oduwole, Chairman of Ward 3, expressed appreciation to Governor Abiodun and pledged that the team would work tirelessly to ensure the administration’s continued success.
It was gathered that the appointees were carefully selected from all 11 wards of the local government, including ward chairmen, women leaders, youth leaders, and ward secretaries, to ensure balanced representation and effective grassroots engagement.
