“I’m a Lover Boy, Not a Womaniser” — 2Baba Opens Up on Family, Marriage and Private Life
Nigerian music icon 2Baba has dismissed long-standing rumours that he is a womaniser, insisting he is simply a man who loves deeply and is open about his feelings.
In a recent interview, the award-winning singer addressed misconceptions surrounding his personal life, stating that while he likes women, he does not fit the stereotype often attached to him.
“The biggest misconception about me is that I’m a womaniser. I like women; I’m just straightforward. But I’m a lover boy. I love hard,” he said.
The father of eight also spoke candidly about the struggles of balancing his demanding music career with fatherhood. Although he described his children as brilliant and amazing, he admitted feeling emotional over missed moments.
“I feel blessed and happy, but the sadness comes from the fact that I haven’t gotten to spend the type of time I should have spent with them collectively. It does something to me sometimes,” he revealed.
2Baba further defended his wife, Natasha Idibia, against claims that she is controlling or overly influential in his decisions. He praised her intelligence and strength, noting that public narratives about her are often far from the truth.
“Everybody has a say in everybody’s business now. Sometimes people say very nasty things. Reality is reality—she’s a brilliant woman, a strong woman,” he said.
The singer also shared a more personal side, revealing that he is naturally shy and reserved, despite his outgoing public persona. He said his profession often forces him out of his comfort zone and that he values solitude and nature.
“Sometimes I just want to be alone and chill. Other times I want to hang out. I like nature; I have my moments,” he added.
2Baba’s revelations have sparked conversations online, with fans praising his honesty and vulnerability about family, love, and life beyond the spotlight.
