Victor Boniface’s move to AC Milan is in jeopardy after medical tests raised fresh concerns over the striker’s right knee, forcing the Rossoneri to reconsider the deal.

The Nigerian completed a lengthy series of examinations in Milan, but the club’s doctors ordered extra checks due to his history of injuries, including two ACL operations and recurring muscle problems.

While reports suggested he initially “passed” the tests, further scans have created uncertainty.

Milan director Igli Tare confirmed the club is adopting a cautious approach, insisting Boniface’s quality is not in doubt but admitting the medical findings will decide whether they proceed.

The deal, structured as a €5m loan with a €25m option to buy, is now under review, with a final decision expected within 24 hours.

With hesitation growing, Milan have begun exploring alternatives, including Sporting’s Conrad Harder, Manchester United’s Rasmus Hojlund, Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson, and Monaco’s Breel Embolo.

The setback is a frustration for Boniface, whose form at Bayer Leverkusen had convinced Milan he could lead Massimiliano Allegri’s attack.

But it also echoes concerns elsewhere in Serie A, with Roma having reportedly turned down a swap deal involving the Nigerian earlier this summer due to doubts over his fitness.
