Simone Inzaghi has been named the new head coach of Saudi Arabian giants Al Hilal, signing a two-year deal reportedly worth €25 million per season making him the highest-paid manager in world football.
The former Inter Milan boss takes over immediately and will lead the side into the Club World Cup, starting with a high-profile clash against Real Madrid on June 18.
Inzaghi leaves Inter after four seasons, having won one Serie A title, two Coppa Italias, three Italian Super Cups, and twice finishing runners-up in the Champions League.
His final campaign ended in frustration, losing the league to Napoli and suffering a heavy 5-0 defeat to PSG in Europe’s biggest competition.
