Italy Overpower Estonia with Second-Half Surge in Euro Qualifier

Italy broke through after a frustrating first half to sweep past Estonia 5-0 in Euro 2028 qualifying, with goals from Moise Kean, Mateo Retegui, Giacomo Raspadori and Alessandro Bastoni sealing victory in Bari.

The Azzurri dominated from the outset but found Estonia goalkeeper Karl Hein in inspired form, pulling off a string of saves to deny Federico Dimarco, Retegui and Mattia Zaccagni before the break.

Hein’s heroics ensured the visitors went into halftime level for the sixth time in seven matches.The deadlock was finally broken in the 58th minute when Kean headed in after Retegui’s clever flick.

Kean struck the post moments later before substitute Raspadori changed the game, setting up Retegui for Italy’s second before scoring himself with a diving header.

Retegui added another with a close-range header from Andrea Cambiaso’s cross, and Bastoni capped the rout with a powerful header from a corner.Italy now have six points from three matches in Group I, behind leaders Norway and Israel who have played more games.

Estonia remain on three points after suffering a 10th consecutive defeat against top-30 ranked opposition.
