Tottenham Hotspur took a major step toward the UEFA Europa League final with a commanding 3-1 win over FK Bodø/Glimt in north London, extending their unbeaten European home run to 19 matches.
Ange Postecoglou’s side wasted no time asserting dominance, finding the net inside 40 seconds. Richarlison nodded Pedro Porro’s deep cross into Brennan Johnson’s path, and the Welshman made no mistake from close range.
Spurs nearly doubled their lead soon after, with James Maddison volleying narrowly over in a rampant opening.
Glimt offered little in attack and saw faint penalty appeals dismissed, while Spurs kept up the pressure.
Porro was again the provider for Tottenham’s second, lofting a pinpoint pass to Maddison, whose mis-hit finish still deceived Nikita Haikin and found the corner.
Rodrigo Bentancur’s volley nearly made it three, but it was Dominic Solanke who added to the tally from the spot after Fredrik Sjovold clumsily caught Cristian Romero in the box.
The composed finish capped a dominant display, though injuries to Maddison and Solanke provided a note of concern.
A late deflected strike from Ulrik Saltnes gave Glimt a flicker of hope, their only shot on target all night. But with the Norwegians having lost every away leg and won every home leg in the knockout phase, Spurs know the tie isn’t over yet.
