Kane Hits Hat-Trick as Bayern Thrash Leipzig in Bundesliga Opener

August 23, 2025

Harry Kane stole the show with a hat-trick as Bayern Munich began their Bundesliga title defence in emphatic style, dismantling RB Leipzig 6-0 at the Allianz Arena.

Michael Olise opened the scoring after 27 minutes with a fierce strike, before Luis Diaz doubled the lead five minutes later, rifling in off the crossbar for his first Bundesliga goal since arriving from Liverpool.

Serge Gnabry, pulling the strings in attack, provided the assists for both strikes and laid on Bayern’s third just before half-time, setting up Olise for his second of the night.

Kane got in on the act after the break, cutting inside to finish a sweeping counter-attack past Peter Gulacsi.

Leipzig briefly thought they had reduced the deficit through Antonio Nusa, only for VAR to rule out the effort due to an infringement in the build-up.

The England captain then punished the visitors further, curling a precise effort into the far corner from the edge of the area, before completing his hat-trick in the 77th minute when left unmarked to slot home.

It was a devastating reminder of Bayern’s firepower as Thomas Tuchel’s side laid down an early marker in their pursuit of another Bundesliga crown.
