Harry Kane returned to training on Monday, but Bayern Munich will make a late
decision on his availability for Tuesday’s Champions League quarter-final first leg
against Real Madrid.
The England captain has been sidelined with an ankle injury, missing recent matches
for club and country, but his return to training is a positive sign ahead of the
showdown.
Bayern coach Vincent Kompany said, “It was important that he did a lot of training
today. I don’t think he’s lost his rhythm. We’ll wait until tomorrow and then decide.”
Kane’s presence would be a major boost, with the striker enjoying a prolific season,
scoring 48 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions.
Kompany also stressed the importance of focus ahead of the clash, saying: “The
most important thing is that we have full focus on the game tomorrow. We want to
show what we’re capable of.”
Bayern head into the tie in strong form, while Real Madrid aim to respond after a
recent league setback.
