Brentford have completed the signing of goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher from Liverpool in a deal worth up to £18 million, as Mark Flekken moves to Bayer Leverkusen for around £8 million.
Kelleher, 26, signs a five-year deal with an option for an extra year and arrives to take over as the Bees’ number one.
The Irish international made 25 Premier League appearances for Liverpool and won several trophies, including the Champions League and two league titles.
Flekken, 31, spent just one season at Brentford, helping them finish 10th in the Premier League. He now joins Champions League-bound Leverkusen under new manager Erik ten Hag.
Brentford director Phil Giles praised both players, noting Kelleher’s strong character and Flekken’s professionalism, adding that the club moved quickly once Flekken expressed his interest in returning to Germany.
