Juventus’ slide showed no sign of slowing as they fell 1-0 to Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday, extending their winless streak to eight matches in all competitions and leaving head coach Igor Tudor under intensifying scrutiny.
Lazio struck early when Toma Basic’s deflected effort from distance found the bottom corner after just nine minutes, setting the tone for a frustrating afternoon for the visitors.
Juventus struggled to respond, repeatedly thwarted by Maurizio Sarri’s disciplined defence. Their best opening came midway through the first half, when Jonathan David broke free only to be denied by Ivan Provedel’s sharp reflexes.
The second half offered little change in rhythm. While Khephren Thuram’s introduction added some urgency, Juventus remained toothless in attack.
Thuram’s late header forced a smart save from Provedel, but it was Lazio who looked more likely to score on the break, with Gustav Isaksen and Pedro both threatening to seal the result.
For Lazio, the victory lifted them into the top half of the Serie A table and stretched their unbeaten run to four games.
For Juventus, however, the defeat deepened an already grim situation. The Old Lady have now gone over a month without a win, slipping to eighth place as discontent continues to grow among players and fans alike.
