LeBron James has admitted that losing Anthony Davis in a blockbuster trade was “challenging,” but he’s already looking forward to an electrifying partnership with Luka Doncic in Los Angeles.
Speaking after the Lakers’ dominant 122-97 win over the Clippers, James reflected on his six-year bond with Davis, which included an NBA championship. “It’s been a whirlwind,” he said. “I had six years with AD—won a title with my guy. But it’s a business.”
Despite the emotional farewell, James is thrilled about teaming up with Doncic, calling the 25-year-old superstar a “big-time player” who is still yet to hit his prime. “It’s going to be special,” James said. “We’re gonna attract a lot of eyes.”
Doncic, sidelined since December 25 with a calf injury, could make his Lakers debut as soon as Saturday against the Pacers, according to team sources.
