England pulled off a sensational comeback to reach the Euro 2025 semi-finals, defeating Sweden in a nerve-jangling 3-2 penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw in Zurich.
Sarina Wiegman’s side looked down and out after first-half goals from Kosovare Asllani and Stina Blackstenius gave Sweden a 2-0 lead.
But a late rally saw Lucy Bronze head home with 11 minutes to go before teenager Michelle Agyemang equalised moments later.
A chaotic shootout followed. England scored three of their seven penalties, with Bronze firing the seventh into the top corner.
Sweden managed just two, with Smilla Holmberg skying the final kick to send the Lionesses through.
Goalkeeper Hannah Hampton was key, saving two penalties, while her opposite number Jennifer Falk denied four but missed a chance to win it when she blasted her own spot-kick over the bar.
England now face Italy on Tuesday, 22 July at 8pm for a place in the final.
