Liverpool’s four-game Premier League winning streak came to a halt after a goalless draw with Leeds United at Anfield, a result that also ended the Reds’ 20-match head-to-head scoring run against the visitors.
Leeds showed little fear on Merseyside and were comfortable in possession, even without leading scorer Dominic Calvert-Lewin starting the game.
Liverpool created the clearer chances, with Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike both going close before the break, while Ethan Ampadu missed a huge opportunity after a rare Alisson error.
The second half lacked fluency, with Virgil van Dijk heading narrowly wide and late efforts from Ekitike and Cody Gakpo failing to trouble Lucas Perri.
Calvert-Lewin briefly thought he had won it for Leeds, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.
The draw means Liverpool have lost just one of their last 16 meetings with Leeds, while Daniel Farke’s side extended their unbeaten run to six league games.
