Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique made his club’s ambitions clear after their commanding 3-1 victory over Marseille on Sunday, stating that PSG are pushing to win every trophy available this season.
The Ligue 1 leaders followed up their Champions League triumph over Liverpool with another statement performance, extending their gap at the top of the table to 19 points.
With the league title all but secured, PSG remain in the hunt for their first-ever Champions League crown, while also booking a spot in the French Cup semi-finals and having already claimed the Trophée des Champions in January.
“It’s been an exceptional week for us,” Luis Enrique told reporters. “A ‘Clasico’ always motivates both teams, and I think we put on a great show tonight.”
The Spaniard acknowledged the difficulty of facing Marseille but praised his team’s ability to stay focused after their European exploits.
“It’s tough to keep possession against Marseille, and even more so against PSG. Each coach played his cards, and after a game like Liverpool, having a classic like this kept us sharp,” he said.
“I’m very happy with my team and our fans’ support. Our goal is to win Ligue 1 and all the trophies. We know the challenge ahead, and we’re working hard every day to achieve it.”
With a potential historic season unfolding, PSG will return to Ligue 1 action on March 29th with an away trip to AS Saint-Étienne as they continue their pursuit of silverware on all fronts.
