A man identified as Wealth Nnamdi has vanished after allegedly killing his pregnant fiancée, Osasu Isaac and her three-year-old daughter, Miracle, after a dispute at Idiangbona Street in Ovbiogoe Community, Benin, Edo State. The tragic incident happened few days before their scheduled traditional and church weddings on March 29 and April 6, respectively.
Nnamdi and Osasu, according to neighbors, frequently argued but no one expected the confrontation on March 16 to turn lethal. Reports show that after the altercation, Nnamdi allegedly killed his fiancée and her daughter, locked their bodies inside the room and disappeared. Days later, neighbors alerted the police after detecting a foul smell from the apartment.
Officers, upon arrival from the Ekiadolor Police Division forced the door open and discovered the decomposing bodies. Osasu had what appeared to be a machete wound on her head, while her daughter lay lifeless on the bed.
Confirming the incident, Edo State Police Command spokesperson, Moses Yamu asserted that preliminary investigations point to Nnamdi as the prime suspect. He remains at large, and authorities have launched a manhunt to ensure his arrest and prosecution.
