Manchester United are eyeing a summer move for Udinese forward Lorenzo Lucca as part of plans to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the 2025/26 season.

According to The Sun, the 20-time English champions are considering a £25 million bid for the 6ft 7in Italian, who has impressed with 12 goals and two assists in 32 games this season.

Lucca, who has also been capped three times by Italy, was forced to miss the March internationals due to injury.

The 23-year-old previously had spells with clubs like Vicenza, Palermo, Pisa, and Ajax, and his physical presence makes him an appealing low-cost option in today’s market.

However, United may face competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool, who are also monitoring the striker.

Despite links to high-profile names like Victor Osimhen, Viktor Gyokeres, and Liam Delap, Lucca offers a more affordable alternative.

Still, expectations would need to be managed should he arrive at Old Trafford, particularly given the inconsistent form of current strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

United’s lack of cutting edge was evident once again in their recent 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

With Champions League qualification still a possibility via the Europa League, the pressure is on the club to make the right moves this summer.
