Manchester United Sweep Aside Wolves to Climb to Sixth

Manchester United eased to a 4-1 win at Molineux to move up to sixth in the Premier League, stretching their unbeaten away run to five matches.

Wolves, stuck on just two points after 14 games, briefly threatened but ultimately folded under sustained pressure.

United struck first when Casemiro forced a turnover and Matheus Cunha teed up Bruno Fernandes for a scrappy opener.

Wolves hit back before the break through Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, who guided in David Moller Wolfe’s cut-back for their first goal since October.

Any hope of a revival faded early in the second half as Diogo Dalot broke free and squared for Bryan Mbeumo to restore United’s lead.

Mason Mount then volleyed home Fernandes’ pinpoint cross to make it 3-1, before Fernandes sealed the points from the penalty spot after a handball by Yerson Mosquera.

Wolves slumped to an eighth straight league defeat and remain rooted to the bottom heading into Christmas.
