Big Brother Naija Season 4 winner, Mercy Eke, has revealed that she is open to having children outside marriage, stating that motherhood would not hinder her whether or not she settles down.

Speaking on a recent podcast, the reality TV star said that while she is not intentionally trying to conceive before marriage, she would gladly keep her baby if it happened.

“I won’t go the extra mile to get pregnant out of wedlock. But if it just happens, I would leave it and have my baby. I want three kids; two girls and one boy — or even three girls. I love female children,” she said.

Eke further asserted that the stigma often attached to single mothers only affects women who are struggling financially, adding that successful women face no such judgment.

“What most people don’t know is that the stigma of being a single mother only applies to women who don’t have things going well for them. The women breaking barriers — men are begging them for marriage,” she stated.

She disclosed that though she has many suitors, she is yet to find the qualities she desires in a partner. However, she insists that motherhood would not stop her from finding love.

“I can get married tomorrow if I want to. But what I want in a man, I have not seen it. So, even if I have a baby, I would still see a man,” she added.

Mercy Eke’s bold stance has sparked fresh conversations about marriage, motherhood, and societal expectations of women in Nigeria.
