Marseille ended Paris Saint-Germain’s 100% Ligue 1 start with a 1-0 victory at the Stade Vélodrome, securing a seventh straight home win in the league for the first time in over a decade.

The match, delayed by 24 hours due to adverse weather, saw the hosts strike early as Nayef Aguerd headed in Mason Greenwood’s delivery after PSG failed to clear their lines.

Lucas Chevalier was at fault, misjudging the Moroccan’s effort in front of a deafening Marseille crowd.

PSG enjoyed long spells of possession but created little of note, with Geronimo Rulli keeping out Vitinha’s attempts while Amine Gouiri rattled the crossbar at the other end.

Emerson Palmieri also had a goal disallowed before Khvicha Kvaratskhelia curled narrowly wide.

Luis Enrique’s men, missing Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembele, João Neves and Désiré Doué, were largely limited to long-range shots.

Achraf Hakimi and Vitinha tested Rulli, but Marseille’s compact shape frustrated the champions.

Late chances fell to Greenwood and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who saw a penalty claim dismissed before being denied by Chevalier in stoppage time.

A fiery finale ended with Marseille coach Roberto De Zerbi sent off, but his side held firm to climb to sixth and record their first Le Classique win in 10 attempts.
