AC Milan eased into the last 16 of the Italian Cup with a 3-0 win over Lecce at San Siro on Tuesday night.

Last season’s finalists were given an early boost when Lecce defender Jamil Siebert was sent off in the 18th minute for a last-man foul on Christopher Nkunku.

Two minutes later, Santiago Gimenez struck from close range to put Milan in control.

Adrien Rabiot and Ruben Loftus-Cheek both hit the frame of the goal before Nkunku himself doubled the advantage with a volley just after the break.

Christian Pulisic then sealed the tie moments after coming off the bench, converting Youssouf Fofana’s cross on 64 minutes.

Milan will now face Lazio in the third round. Elsewhere, Cagliari beat Frosinone 4-1 and Udinese edged Palermo 2-1 to progress.
