AC Milan produced a stunning late turnaround with two goals in as many minutes to beat Genoa 2-1, keeping slim hopes of a European return alive and extending their strong away form.

A wet and wild encounter at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris saw Genoa go ahead through Vitinha’s deft volley moments after coming off the bench, ending a year-long personal drought. But the hosts’ joy was short-lived.

Rafael Leão struck back almost instantly with a deflected equaliser, before Frendrup bundled into his own net to complete Milan’s comeback in dramatic fashion.

Genoa had no answer and slumped to a third straight defeat, dealing a major blow to their bid for a top-half finish.

Milan, who’ve now won three straight on the road, sit six points off seventh with three games to go.
