Juventus manager Thiago Motta expressed disappointment after his side suffered their first Serie A defeat of the season, losing 2-1 to league leaders Napoli on Saturday.

Despite taking the lead through new signing Randal Kolo Muani, Juventus struggled in the second half as goals from André-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Romelu Lukaku secured victory for Napoli, who now sit six points clear at the top.

Motta pointed to Napoli’s advantage of having more preparation time without European commitments, which allowed them to be fresher and better organized.

“We played well in the first half but couldn’t maintain the same level in the second,” Motta told DAZN. “Napoli had the luxury of preparing all week, and it made a difference.”
