Napoli Crowned Champions Again as Conte Makes History in Style

Napoli sealed their second Serie A title in three years with a 2-0 win over Cagliari on Friday, edging out Inter Milan on a dramatic final day of the season.

Goals from Romelu Lukaku and Scott McTominay secured the victory that ensured Antonio Conte’s men finished one point ahead of Inter, who also won 2-0 against Como.

Had the two sides finished level, a playoff would have been required but Napoli left no room for doubt.

It marks the club’s fourth Scudetto overall, and their first under Conte, who becomes the first manager in history to win the Italian top flight with three different clubs.

“It’s happened again and it’s fantastic,” Conte said. “This is all thanks to the boys, especially those who won it two years ago.”

Despite losing Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia during the season, Napoli remained resolute.

Lukaku stepped up with 14 goals, while McTominay now Serie A’s Player of the Season, contributed 12 and delivered another decisive moment on Friday.

“This is a dream,” McTominay said post-match. “The sacrifice from everyone has been immense, and the people of Naples deserve this.”

Conte’s side built their campaign on discipline, conceding just 27 goals and losing only four times. After Inter slipped up in late April, Napoli took charge and never let go, even when held to frustrating draws by Bologna and Genoa.

With Lobotka controlling midfield and a core of Italian talent supporting the charge, Napoli have once again climbed to the summit of Italian football, this time with Conte’s signature all over it.
