Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe remains hopeful that top scorer Alexander Isak will not face a lengthy injury absence, though his availability for Sunday’s FA Cup clash with Brighton remains uncertain.
Isak, who has netted 21 goals this season, missed Wednesday’s 2-0 defeat to Liverpool due to a groin issue.
Howe emphasized that no risks will be taken with his fitness but stressed the importance of keeping players match-ready.
Dismissing claims that Newcastle rely too heavily on Isak, Howe acknowledged the striker’s unique qualities but insisted the team has multiple attacking options.
Newcastle currently sits sixth in the Premier League as they push for European qualification.
