Newcastle Move Puts Man United in Sesko Transfer Squeeze

Manchester United face a race against time in their pursuit of Benjamin Sesko as Newcastle United close in on a €90m deal with RB Leipzig.

The German club are understood to be satisfied with Newcastle’s package, which includes €80m upfront plus add-ons, after receiving indications that the 21-year-old striker is keen on a move to St James’ Park.

United had identified Sesko as their priority striker target but remain reluctant to break their new transfer policy of avoiding inflated fees, following costly deals for Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Rasmus Hojlund.

If the Red Devils fail to respond, attention could shift to Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, though any move would be complex and could limit funds for midfield and goalkeeper reinforcements.

RB Leipzig’s hopes of triggering a Premier League bidding war appear to have paid off.
