Newcastle United are considering a move for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko as a potential replacement for Alexander Isak, who has told the club he wants to explore options this summer.
While no formal transfer request has been submitted, Isak’s future remains uncertain. Talks over a new contract have taken place in recent months without agreement.
Newcastle remain firm on their £150 million valuation and insist the Swedish forward is not for sale.
The Magpies have already looked into a deal for Sesko, who recently turned down a proposal from a Saudi Pro League club and was previously a target for Arsenal.
Their interest in the Slovenian dates back to last summer.
Newcastle also saw a bid rejected for Brentford’s Yoane Wissa, understood to be viewed as a backup option rather than a direct replacement for Isak.
Isak was sent home ahead of last weekend’s 4-0 defeat to Celtic amid mounting transfer speculation following an approach from Liverpool.
The 24-year-old also missed the club’s pre-season trip to Singapore due to a minor thigh issue, although the uncertainty over his future played a role in his absence.
Liverpool made an informal approach for Isak before signing Hugo Ekitike, but they are still believed to hold strong interest.
