Brazilian superstar Neymar has mutually agreed to terminate his contract with Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal, bringing an end to his injury-ridden 18-month stint.

Signed in August 2023 for a world-record $104 million annual salary, the 32-year-old managed just seven appearances due to persistent injuries.

Neymar ruptured his cruciate ligament while on international duty in October 2023 and later sustained a hamstring injury after a brief return in late 2024.

Al-Hilal expressed gratitude for his contributions, stating, “The club wishes Neymar success in his career.”

Despite interest from MLS clubs, Neymar is reportedly in talks to return to Santos, where his professional journey began.

He aims to play in the 2026 World Cup, declaring it as his “last shot” at the global tournament.

Neymar, Brazil’s all-time top scorer with 79 goals in 127 matches, leaves behind a legacy that includes triumphs at Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

However, his move to Saudi Arabia marked a sharp decline in his career trajectory.
