President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, on the 9th anniversary of his ascension to the throne.

‎In a statement issued by Presidential Spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga, on Sunday in Abuja, Tinubu praised the Oba’s enduring service to the Benin Kingdom and the nation at large.


‎The President joined the government and people of Edo, the royal family, and the traditional council in celebrating the milestone of nearly a decade of impactful leadership.

‎He commended the Oba’s dedication to fostering peace, unity, and social harmony, especially his efforts in tackling human trafficking and illegal migration among the youth.

‎Tinubu also lauded the traditional ruler’s cultural advocacy, including his push for the return of African artefacts and the preservation of traditional values.

‎Marking the Oba’s nine years on the throne, Tinubu hailed his unwavering commitment to safeguarding Benin’s rich heritage for future generations.

‎The President prayed for the Oba’s continued good health, long life, and even greater accomplishments on the historic throne.
