NNPCL Names Odeh, Adewunmi As New Spokespersons

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has named Mr. Andy Odeh and Mrs. Morenike Adewunmi to top leadership positions in its communications and public relations units.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the NNPC Ltd. management announced that Odeh has taken on the role of Chief Corporate Communications Officer, while Adewunmi will serve as Chief Relations Officer.

Odeh brings more than 30 years of diverse experience in communications and business administration spanning the oil and gas, advertising, and broadcasting industries.

Prior to joining NNPC, he spent 26 years at the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG), where he held several leadership roles in Community Relations and Development, Information Management and Technology, and Corporate Communications, among others.

“He is recognised for his work on major public relations and advertising campaigns for top brands.

“At NLNG, he successfully managed the company’s rebranding and implemented one of Nigeria’s best-run micro-credit schemes for host communities,” the statement read.

He also played a key role in establishing the NLNG Prize for Energy Reporting. Odeh is an alumnus of the University of Jos, the University of Lagos, INSEAD Business School, and the Nigerian Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).

Adewunmi, meanwhile, is a legal professional with more than 25 years of experience and expertise in stakeholder management and advocacy, largely gained during her extensive career with Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCIN).

“She is highly regarded for her ability to navigate complex external landscapes, ensuring regulatory compliance and protecting the company’s license to operate.”

At Shell, she held critical positions, including Regulatory Affairs Manager, where she oversaw all mandatory regulatory engagements and permits.

“As the Government Relations Manager, she built and maintained constructive relationships with the Presidency, Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.

“Adewunmi is known for her strong leadership skills, emotional intelligence, and ability to build robust stakeholder networks.

“She is a subject matter expert on non-technical risks and has a background in law from the Nigerian Law School and Olabisi Onabanjo University.

“The appointment of Odeh and Adewunmi reflects NNPC Limited’s commitment to enhancing communication and engagement with stakeholders,” the statement added.
